client notes - 11/11/15

Just to detail the background a bit more: my goal is to develop an online catalog of teaching units that integrate science and mathematics teaching with reading in grades K-2.
- Units will feature one (or two) children's books that will be projected onto a large screen or TV and read aloud;
- units will be teacher-directed (for now I'm not planning that students will interact directly with the software);
- units will be fairly linear in design, but will use menus so that teachers can move around within the unit easily;
- unit segments (reading, hands-on activities, etc.) will be similar to "Powerpoint" presentations - some with just text, some with text and graphics (photos, videos or animation) - some interactive tools
- the major sections of a unit will be: read the book; make and record predictions (revisit those predictions later); conduct hands-on science experiment(s); teacher-directed wrap-up and assessment; teacher resources (content knowledge, content standards, etc.)
- system will allow teachers to make/save notes throughout - something that can be used in subsequent years;
- system will allow teachers to "share" with other teachers who are using the same unit;
- system will include a teacher forum (threaded discussions);
- users will have the option to create "profiles" that will be used in threaded discussions.
That's what the units will look like. Obviously there will need to be systems to manage subscriptions and maintain "business" records; systems to advertise units to teachers (demos); and others.
My initial attempt at "wire framing" only addresses the unit itself. There are 14 pages in the PDF file, although I'm sure you'll see a lot of duplication - so I imagine that you'll be able to pair things down to a few "key pages." Because the PDF is fairly large, I'm using Dropbox and will share the folder with you. If you use something other than Dropbox, let me know and I can share it another way.
Let me know if you want to talk more about this background info. Or if you think you've got a pretty good handle on what I'm after, you can dive in.
