2017 Content notes

From client:

"I just found out this week we are discontinuing our CRF Travel Grants programs. Some of our other grant programs are pilots and may or may not be continued. This is something we should keep in mind when building out grant sections - how to keep a history of all recipients, but make the applications themselves active, inactive, or archived.

We are also adding a local program series, almost a sub-brand called Craft City in July which should have a landing page and a tag for events - in the current architecture this would fall under Benchspace. This will include ongoing tours, workshops, events, etc."

One hangup I'm having is that I'm not quite sure where to place "series-type programs" of Benchspace that run over multiple years or tie back into our grant programs. For example, Back to the Drawing Board, Spaces of Production, Windgate Project Grant Artist Talks (a sub-series of events the Windgate Project Grant), Curatorial Fellowship Exhibitions (a sub-series of exhibitions curated by the Curatorial Fellows), Windgate Research Curator lecture series. I'm currently using the series name as an organizing "tag" within an events page, but not sure if they need additional landing pages or where they would go.

The areas I see missing are:
  • past events (from 2016 and earlier). I have reformatted and added all exhibition content from our old website in and can continue to add events. Does this format work for you? I'm thinking it will look something like Walker Art Center - where events, exhibitions are grouped and sorted by tag. If this works, I'll keep plugging away at the old events.
  • photo and logo files - I can submit these in bulk once we have a structure and place for them on the events and grant pages. I'd prefer not to stick photos in body text, but have galleries, sliders, or icons in each section.
  • grants - I have uploaded a spreadsheet of all grant recipients and abstracts as well as application/background information on each grant program. As you know, they are all currently formatted differently, which is problematic. I'm suggesting this format/convention for each of the grant landing pages, which I will leave up to you all to design. If this works for you and you need me to reformat the information to move ahead, let me know and I will go back in and format the google docs to match.
  • support/donation pages - currently working on this and should have something solid by end of day
