yep got this.

Justin Bernard on January 12, 2015:

cool.  and thanks for starting on time.

psd getting huge, and awkward.

going to break it apart into multiple psd's for a few reasons

look in layer comps (also just in layers), see how its organized into sections.  want to make separate psd for each section.

like 1/2/3/4/5/6/a/b/etc

also that way we can work on individual psds.  the core/base/nav isnt changing , so its just working on screen design from here on out

call if any questions

youll need to dupiclate the psd , delete layers, then delete appropriate layer comps that arent needed for that new psd.

Taylor Bernard on January 12, 2015:

you get those? section 2 is the most complex but i think it will be fine as a whole and not sub busted apart again. was running a lot better on my box.

did prudential banners get pushed back or something on deadline?

Taylor Bernard on January 12, 2015:

post those things you were talking about you wanted mockup bgs for.

tune page screens psd:
http://cloud.fleeangrybear.com/391p1z14442I

two screens will take care of all the tuning scenarios, a question a screen, and a screen that prompts adjustment based on that answer

want to look into ways to refine this. ecsp ways to make a nice rotary dial.  their idea was that user could use either the slider/drag interface, or rotate on an actual dial, both be paired together.

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

Justin Bernard on January 16, 2015:

cool

see if you can find any 'flat' looking slide/rotary interfaces, similar more to what we are doing

also whats an example of the 3d stuff you were mentioning, like the dials above that look realistic?

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

the last 3 was what i was talking about. inset dial type slider

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

a segmented # dial like this could be cool with 'lsc', 'hsc', ect in center, save space not having to put label hovering over. then light up each slice you push

Justin Bernard on January 16, 2015:

cool thx

start playing around with actual design if you can

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

along line of which ones

Justin Bernard on January 16, 2015:

the two screens on top of this thread, also a psd up there

basically that was my first rough out stab, need to refine, make better

if thats too hard for you from design perspective, move on to stat.  if dont have stuff on stat, let me know as i have other things

thx

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

how many clickers are there per section. all the same?

Justin Bernard on January 16, 2015:

nah, even shock to shock varies

that why on a slider i was just going to put ranges, say 1-12, and on the rotary it would just stop at the limits as well

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

why not use 1 big rotary vs rotary + slider

Justin Bernard on January 16, 2015:

client request

Taylor Bernard on January 16, 2015:

what about a slice style circle you press each section vs a drag and rotate. i hate those rotate ones because they hardly ever work.

also the hsc and +/- signs are redundant and not needed. what about a slimmed down simple slider

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

pull this file

need to extract some illustrations out of it for inclusion in app

shock illus on pages:

7, 9, 11

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

make it so only the active section has the stroked/double outline. so if 'tune' is active, 'setup' is just gold hex

Taylor Bernard on January 22, 2015:

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

make so connectors are in same folder, that way i can drag/drop one folder

the layer comps are messing stuff up for that

just need 3 folders, all stuff intact in each

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

cool thanks

go ahead and help me input that ui element into the past projects

start with this section
http://cloud.fleeangrybear.com/1v2w3h470e0M

be sure to refresh the layer comps as you add it in place

thx

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

meant to say, those should all be 'setup' active screens. just duplicate what each section currently has on all the psd's i send over

thx

Taylor Bernard on January 22, 2015:

thought you said you didnt want to use layer comps on that and just all in folders?

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

dont want to use layer comps on our status ui asset you just made

i'm talking about using layer comps on the main base psd's, that toggle app sections, like weve been doing in the past

Justin Bernard on January 22, 2015:

this psd, 6.x, will need updating as well.  it should be the 'save' active i think
http://cloud.fleeangrybear.com/3T0N1e0D3L0z

i'm taking care of the 'tune' active screens, since thats the psd i'm working in

thx

Taylor Bernard on January 22, 2015:

just drop the new icon highlight style in there and leave the % alone?
