i'll call the guy tomm at PeauProductions and get his input again. i already asked the pros/cons of each plasma or LED and he gave good info on both.

man alive is that a good deal on the samsung 51" above (Samsung PN51F5500 51-Inch 1080p 600Hz 3D Smart Plasma HDTV, $847).  those things looked insane in store.

i'm seeing lots above @ 51" didnt know that was even a size, i thought 50 then 55.  i dont remember seeing overlays in that size.

people say this thing is nice http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TC-P50S60-50-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B00ARAHBIW/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1383248186&sr=8-2&keywords=panasonic+plasma

also panasonic announced today that they are quitting plasmas almost immediately. and supposdely they were the best plasmas.

Taylor Bernard on October 31, 2013:

saw that as well about them getting out of the plasmas. supposedly its cause so many companies are undercutting them on price they are saying screw it were getting out cause we're not sacrificing quality to get our price the same as an LED tv.

Justin Bernard on November 1, 2013:

think i may get one actually.  read some other reviews, supposdely one of the biggest advantages of plasma is viewing angle is much wider - which for what we need it for, is big advantage...

basically not wanting to spend $800+ on it.  honestly couldnt tell any difference from 600-1000 ones at best buy when you're 18" in front of it.  in a theater room 30' away, sure, but that close its all pixel'y looking anyway...

Talked to the guy at Peau Productions again.

He said if you can, go plasma. LCD's are good too. LEDs sometimes suffer due to being able to see the light bleed around the corners. something you dont have to worry about on Plasma/LCD.

he said 2 things to consider....

1- some have 'edgeless' bezels. this can be bad because it doesnt give enough mounting surface for the touch overlay housing. but at the same time you dont want to much bezel on the tv and have it visually stepped up to the touch overlay.

2- you want to find a tv with the thinnest bezel to screen offset. imagine if your looking at tv from side profile view. the 'thicker' the bezel is and standing off from the actual screen, the more of a feeling that youre not touching the object on the screen.

the plasma above listed looks to be the best thus far. the other ones had super thin bezels on the sides. would have to find a mechanical drawing for those to see how thick it actually is if you wanted to go with one of those.

he said they can sell the glass separate, and he believes its in stock in the US at their warehouse. he said should be around 100$. but its not as smooth as an iphone or the like, that stuff has a serious coating on it. he said the tempered glass is fine usually.
so say 100$, and i bet shipping will be rough. 50-100 i bet. so say 200$ coated glass vs 50$ local. your call.

Panasonic TC-P50S60  ordered, will have by mid next week.

Taylor Bernard on November 14, 2013:

no prime?

Justin Bernard on November 14, 2013:

something on prime has changed in last year.  tons of oversized items they do free shipping but not the 2 day deal. i ordered a class3 hitch for the camry so we could go to pro challenge, and it said prime so i assumed 2 days, and after i got confirmation email it was for like a week away, so i flipped because i had to leave in 3 days.  canceled order, dude said on oversized stuff kinda randomly they dont do it anymore, depends on what warehouse it is in. either way, itll probably all time together with the other pieces...
